The Capital City Marathon (CaCiMa) was founded by Chief Nsolo Mlozi, one of Tanzania’s leading athlete motivators, with a vision to inspire, unite, and give back to the community. Rooted in Dodoma — the heart of Tanzania — CaCiMa has grown into a marathon that celebrates both sports and culture.

Dodoma is blessed with a rich variety of grapes, and this unique feature inspired the CaCiMa team to host the marathon during the grape harvest season each year. This timing allows participants and visitors not only to enjoy the excitement of the race but also to experience the distinct flavor and culture of the capital city.

Since its beginning, the number of participants has continued to grow, making CaCiMa a truly special event that connects people, promotes healthy living, and celebrates the pride of Dodoma and Tanzania as a whole.
